October 25. Russian Harvest Exceeds 121 million tons of Grain

 According to the operational data of the agribusiness management bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as of October 25, 2019, grains and pulses were harvested from 44.4 million hectares or 94.9% of the planted area (in 2018 - 43.6 million hectares), 121 million tons of grain were produced with a yield of 27.3 centners per hectare compared with a harvested production of 112.7 million tons and a yield of 25.8 centners per hectare last year.

Of these total, wheat was harvested from an area of 27.5 million hectares or 97.9% of the planted area against 26.2 million hectares in 2018, the 2019 production reached 77.5 million tons of grain versus 73.1 million tons in 2018, the harvest yield was 28.2 centners per hectare and 27.9 centners per hectare, respectively, in 2018. Barley was harvested from 8.5 million hectares or 96.5% of the planted area (7.8 million hectares in 2018), 21.5 million tons were produced with a yield of 25.3 centners per hectare (in 2018 - 17.6 million tons with a yield of 22.4 centners per hectare). Corn for grain was harvested from an area of 1.7 million hectares or 64.9% of the planted area, the production totaled 9.9 million tons compared to 8.5 million tons in 2018 with a yield of 59.2 centners per hectare (47 centners per hectare at the same time last year). 2019 harvested rice area reached 167.8 thousand hectares or 86.5% of the cultivated area, 1.1 million tons of grain were produced with a yield of 67.8 centners per hectare. In 2018 the production reached 1 million tons with an area of 160.6 thousand hectares and a yield of 67.3 centners per hectare.

Flaxseed was harvested from 42.8 thousand hectares, or 84.6% of the planted area compared to 41.2 thousand hectares in 2018.

Sunflower was harvested from 6.6 million hectares or 77.8% of the planted area (6.5 million hectares in 2018), 12.4 million tons were produced (10.4 million tons in 2018) with yields of 18.8 centners per hectare and 16 centners per hectare last year.

Soybeans were harvested from 2.3 million hectares or 76.5% of the planted area compared with 2.2 million hectares in 2018, the harvested production reached 4 million tons with a yield of 17.2 centners per hectare versus 3.4 million tons with a yield of 15.8 centners per hectare in 2018.

Rapeseed was harvested from 1.37 million hectares or 87.9% of the planted area, 2.2 million tons were produced (2.1 million tons in 2018) with a yield of 15.8 centners per hectare (in 2018 - 14.3 centners per hectare).

Winter planting was 101.4% complete, the hectarage reached 17.7 million hectares (in 2018 - 17.5 million hectares).
