Kazakhstan Harvests 19.5 m mt of Grain, Hectares Reach 99.9% of the Area

 In early November grains were harvested from 15,254.6 thousand hectares or 99.9% of the area, Ministry of Agriculture reported.

 By November 1, grain production had reached 19,692.5 thousand tons with an average yield of 12.8 centners per hectare.

 It should be noted that 22,670.4 thousand tons of grain were produced and 99.8% of the area under grain crops were harvested with an average yield of 15.1 centners par hectare at the same period last year.

 The latest report, released by the International Grain Council (IGC) on October 24 said that in Kazakhstan grain production for 2019/20 was forecast unchanged at 16.8 million tons, KazakhZerno.kz reported.

 The initial stocks of grain crops in the country, according to October reports, are 2.3 million tons, down 0.9 million tons from last year, unchanged from the previous estimates.

 Grain imports to the country during the reporting period will increase to 1.1 million tons compared to only 0.2 million tons last season. In September, AgMinistry experts estimated grain imports at 0.1 million tons.

 Meanwhile, the AgMinistry reported in October that grain exports for the 2019/20 marketing year were forecast at 8.1 million tons. Last season, 2.5 million tons of grain were delivered abroad. The September expert estimation was below the current expectations by 0.5 million tons.
