Belarusian Agrarians Plow Their Fields After Harvesting

 Belarusian farms will plowdown their fields within 10 days, Minister of Agriculture and Food Anatoly Khotko said at a press conference today, BelTA reported.

 “In Belarus, the agricultural year has almost finished. The autumn harvest is mostly complete. Corn is still in fields in some regions and farms on about 2 thousand hectares. Fields will be plowed within ten days,” said Anatoly Khotko. 

 The minister noted that in Belarus, the agricultural sector is steadily developing, GDP growth rate has increased since last year. At the end of the year, we expect the growth rate at 102.8-103%. “Over the past years we have provided ourselves for all the main types of products needed for the country,” said Khotko.

 Export potential is growing dynamically: in January-September, the export volume of Belarusian agricultural and food products has risen by more than 4%. It is planned to increase this figure. A set of measures is being taken to diversify exports. The number of countries, importing agricultural products from Belarus is increasing. In nine months Belarusian agricultural products were delivered to 94 countries and 11 new markets, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Thailand, Angola, Benin, Kenya, Cuba, Albania, Bosnia and others,” said Aleksey Bogdanov, Head of the Main Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
