The press service of the Agrarian Department of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture has reported that for the January-September period the country increased the export of agricultural products by 21.5% up to $ 15.8 billion compared to the same time last year.
The foreign trade exchange of agricultural products reached 19.97 billion US dollars, up 18.6% from 2018.
Meanwhile, the exports of plant products accounted for 93.1%, and livestock – 6.9%.
Ukrainian corn is the main export crop, according to the report, 43.3% of all exports. The share of vegetable oil accounts for 20.8% (oilseeds – 10.5%).
In the first nine months of the year, the largest markets for Ukrainian agricultural products were Asia (41.4% of total exports), EU countries (almost 34%) and Africa (15.2%).
The leading inmporting countries are China (8.6%), Egypt (7.5%), the Netherlands (7.1%), India (7.1%) and Turkey (6.7%).
In January-September Ukraine increased the imports of agricultural products by 7.7% up to 4.2 billion dollars, reported UNIAN citing the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agricultural Economics".
In 2018, the foreign trade exchange of Ukrainian agricultural products increased by $ 1.7 billion up to $ 24.3 billion. In particular, the export of Ukrainian agricultural products reached a record high of 18.8 billion dollars and import – 5.5 billion dollars.
