As of November 5, 2019, grain and pulses were harvested from 44.7 million hectares or 95.7% of the planted area compared to 43.9 million hectares in 2018, production reached 122.9 million tons of grain vs. 114.2 million tons last year with yield of 27.5 centners per hectare (in 2018 – 26.0 centners per hectare), reported the agribusiness management bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
Of these total, wheat was harvested from 27.5 million hectares or 98% of the planted area compared to 26.3 million hectares in 2018, 77.6 million tons of grain were produced (73.4 million tons in 2018) with yields of 28.2 centners per hectare this year and 27.9 centners per hectare, respectively, in 2018. Barley was harvested from 8.5 million hectares or 96.6% of the planted area vs. 7.9 million hectares last year, harvested production was pegged at 21.5 million tons of grain with yield of 25.3 centners per hectare compared to 17.6 million tons with yield of 22.4 centners per hectare in 2018. Corn hectarage reached 1.9 million hectares or 75.1% of the planted area (1.9 million hectares in 2018), production was estimated at 11.6 million tons with yield of 59.7 centners per hectare vs. 9.4 million tons last year with yield of 48.4 centners per hectare. Rice was threshed from 182 thousand hectares or 93.8% of the planted area, 1.2 million tons of grain were harvested with yield of 65.8 centners per hectare. 2018 rice production reached 1.1 million tons with area of 167.8 thousand hectares and yield of 65.4 centners per hectare.
Flaxseed was harvested from 43.9 thousand hectares or 86.7% of the planted area compared to 41.8 thousand hectares in the same period last year.
Sunflower hectares reached 7.7 million hectares or 90% of the planted area vs. 7.3 million hectares last year, 14.1 million tons of sunflower seeds were produced compared to 11.4 million tons in 2018 with yield of 18.5 centners per hectare (in 2018 – 15.8 centners per hectare).
Soybean was harvested from 2.6 million hectares or 84.7% of the planted area vs. 2.3 million hectares in 2018, soy production totaled 4.3 million tons with yield of 16.6 centners per hectare compared to 3.6 million tons with yield of 15.5 last year.
Rapeseed hectarage reached 1.4 million hectares or 89.7% of the planted area vs. 1.5 million hectares in 2018, harvested production totaled 2.2 million tons with yield of 15.7 centners per hectare vs. 2.1 million tons with yield of 14.3 centners per hectare at the same time last year.
Winter planting is 103.1% complete on an area of 18 million hectares compared to 17.6 million hectares in 2018.
